A labor of love
I began editing the NSA's monthly newsletter Letting GO in 1995. Since then we have put out eight 8-page issues plus two 16-page double issues a year.
As editor, I collect information from various sources -- letters, mailed-in submissions, pick-ups from other publications, and the Internet. I assign stories on special events or happenings. And I work with speech-language pathologists to develop articles for the "Professional's Corner".
Since many submissions do not come from experienced writers, I also edit and/or rewrite pieces as needed to maintain the editorial standard of the journal. And I occasionally add to the content with my own articles.
